Going Beyond the Pink’s mission is to empower breast cancer patients and survivors with knowledge and support so they can thrive through treatment into survivorship. Going Beyond the Pink’s Mammogram Access Program provides financial assistance for essential breast imaging services including screening and diagnostic mammograms and breast ultrasounds for low-income, uninsured, and underinsured residents across the coastal region. By removing financial barriers, the program ensures that every individual regardless of their ability to pay has access to timely screening, early detection, and peace of mind.
Early detection through mammography remains one of the most effective tools for saving lives. Yet financial hardship, lack of insurance, or confusion about screening guidelines often prevents people from getting the imaging they need. The Mammogram Access Program addresses these challenges by covering the cost of screening and diagnostic imaging for those most at risk ensuring timely diagnosis and improved outcomes throughout southeastern North Carolina.
Going Beyond the Pink (GBTP)is a Wilmington-based nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering breast cancer patients, survivors, and their care partners through education, connection, and access to resources. From community workshops and survivor programs to health literacy initiatives, GBTP helps individuals navigate every stage of their breast health journey with knowledge and support.
